“You must also research the competition. Is there any? What’s your target market and why? Who’s the market leader? Why are they leaders: First to market; insurmountable barriers to entry; defensible Intellectual Property? What are their weak points and who are their competitors? What is the TAM (Total Addressable Market) and SAM (Share of Addressable Market)? Can you get money out of the country? How volatile is the monetary exchange rate? Can you partner with a trusted person living in the country and familiar with local customs? Are you going to increase market share, or take it from an existing market participant? Have you considered the travel costs?”
